Working closely with the homeowner and Joan Heaton Architects this modern, well-insulated, energy efficient home carries both the look and feel of an old Vermont farmhouse. Located in Bristol VT, this house is a new construction built upon an existing foundation. We carefully removed the old building in order to keep the foundation, the fireplace and chimney, as well as to salvage as many of the materials as possible. The fireplace is the focal point of the new home. Notice the beautiful wide-pine floors and wood beams throughout. We were able to mill the salvaged materials into much of the exterior trim as well as interior trim elements. A beautifully designed and built home that sits well in the Vermont landscape.
