EV Kid’s Camp
The EV Kid’s is a non-profit camp for kids from the city of Boston. It is used as a way to bring kids out of the city for a few weeks each summer. Working with the architects at DSK, Dewing Schmid Kearns Architects & Planning, we tried to maintain/mix in a camp feeling by using exposed studs and wall sheathing, painted wood flooring in the 2nd floor, wood slab tables and benches, rustic bunks and bedframes, but also made sure it was equipped with modern day comfort by having a lot of open space, modern kitchen and appliances, and bathrooms. The challenge was to rebuild from scratch this beloved camp without losing the familiarity and feel of the pre-existing structure.
